Together, students and faculty explore creative solutions to transform education using resources such as a flight simulator, 3D printing machine, mixed-reality teaching simulator, robots and more. Frances Alvarado-Albertorio, educational technology doctoral student, received the 2019 Smaldino and Herring Leadership Award for the Association for Educational Communications and Technology’s (AECT) Teacher Education Division. This award recognized those who have shown the potential for leadership within teacher education and who have a record of high-quality professional activities related to the educational technology field and teacher education. Kathy Essmiller earned her master’s in educational technology in 2017 and is currently pursuing her doctorate in educational technology. She was named a 2019-2020 Open Educational Resource (OER) Research Fellow. She is one of 24 scholars selected and is the second OSU researcher to participate in the program. Kathy is currently leading the OSU Libraries Open Textbook Incentive Program, which is designed to train and support faculty who are integrating these free resources in their courses. While earning her Ph.D. in Educational Technology from OSU, Ying Xiu served as a graduate teaching assistant, presented at national conferences and served on the Educational Media and Technology Student Association board. She is now a full-time university instructional designer. Scott Haselwood earned his Ph.D. in Educational Technology in 2018 and now serves as executive director of technology for Mid-Del Public Schools. Toby Brown is a business and computer teacher for Stillwater High School. He earned his Ph.D. in Educational Technology in 2015. Travis Hartfield is a life coach, consultant and teacher in Edmond Oklahoma. He is also the founder and director of a non-profit organization that promotes overall health and well-being for educators through coaching and technology. Travis earned his master’s in educational technology in 2016. Samantha Krawczyk is a senior product manager at Amazon. She earned a graduate certificate in online teaching and a master’s in educational technology in 2014. Robert Meyers is an instructional designer for Charter Communications. He earned a graduate certificate in online teaching and a master’s in educational technology in 2014. Stacey Welch, lead education coordinator for the NASA STEM Pathway Activities-Consortium for Education cooperative agreement Kyle Hudson is a talent and organizational development manager for Sherwood Companies in Tulsa, OK.
